UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR LEARNING
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an educational framework that supports inclusive and effective teaching by designing learning experiences that address the needs of all learners from the very beginning. Instead of adapting lessons after difficulties appear, UDL encourages educators to remove potential barriers in advance by offering multiple ways of engaging students, presenting information, and allowing learners to express what they know. In English language teaching, UDL promotes meaningful communication, learner autonomy, and equal access to learning opportunities, making classrooms more inclusive, motivating, and learner-centered.
Inclusive English Learning

SMART-UDL supports inclusive English learning by applying Universal Design for Learning principles, ensuring that students with diverse abilities and learning needs can actively participate and succeed.
Digital & Gamified Tools

Students engage with interactive and gamified digital resources that increase motivation, improve language skills, and promote meaningful learning experiences inside and outside the classroom.
Teacher Professional Development

Teachers are trained to integrate UDL strategies and digital technologies into English teaching, enhancing inclusive practices and innovative classroom design.
Parental Involvement & Support

SMART-UDL empowers parents with practical guidance to support their children’s English learning at home, strengthening collaboration between school and family.
OUTPUTS
PARENTS GUIDE

The Parents’ Guide has been prepared to support families in understanding and actively supporting their children’s English language learning journey. The Parents’ Guide focuses on guidance rather than theory. It offers clear explanations, real-life examples, and age-appropriate suggestions that parents can easily apply. By strengthening cooperation between school and home, this guide aims to increase students’ motivation, confidence, and success in learning English.
LESSON PLANS

The Lesson Plans with UDL section presents a collection of English language lesson plans designed in line with the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
The lesson plans are designed as practical classroom models that can be adapted to different age groups, proficiency levels, and educational settings. They are intended not only for project partners but also for educators seeking ready-to-use, inclusive, and innovative approaches to English language teaching.
TOOL BOX

The Toolbox for Learning English brings together a carefully selected collection of Web 2.0 tools, digital resources, and AI-supported applications designed to support effective and inclusive English language learning. All tools included in the toolbox are aligned with the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), offering multiple ways of engagement, representation, and expression. The focus is on practical classroom use, ensuring that each tool serves a clear pedagogical purpose rather than being used for technology alone.
FRAMEWORK FOR INCLUSIVE ENGLISH TEACHING

A structured study plan based on surveys and data analysis from students, teachers and parents, forms the foundation of our Framework for Inclusive English Teaching.
This framework supports inclusive, learner-centred English instruction by combining evidence-based planning, UDL principles, and practical classroom strategies to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
